In France in 1943, a crowd of men, women and children huddled together at the train station. Dressed for a long journey and standing with their bags at their sides, they spoke in low tones. Armed men in the grim uniform of the SS, the feared wing of the Nazi army, surrounded the travelers.
It’s been said, “Once a liar, always a liar.” Apparently, there’s a lot of truth to that simple proverb.
In October of 2009, The Josephson Institute of Ethics released their findings from a multi-generational study on character and integrity. They found that kids who tell lies today often become adults who tell lies tomorrow. (All things equal…that makes sense.) Further, they discovered that kids who cheat today usually grow to be adults who cheat when they’re older.
If you’ve ever been caught fishing without a license, you know the fine is somewhere around a hundred bucks…give or take.
But can you imagine getting caught fishing without a license…and it cost you a cool million?
