But for Immaculée Ilibagiza, a young African girl caught in a civil war, learning English became a matter of life and death.
In 2005, singing sensation – and American Idol winner – Carrie Underwood released her song entitled Jesus Take the Wheel. I’m not a big fan of Country Music, nor do I think Jesus has much experience driving stick.
But after seeing pictures taken from the scene of a particular car wreck in Utah’s Mojave Desert, I have to wonder if Jesus didn’t take this wheel.

Origen’s life is just as significant today as it was when he lived it during the 2nd and 3rd Century A.D. He taught at Christian schools, wrote many commentaries on the Bible, and produced some of the greatest defenses of the faith in his time.
But his life was almost cut short by martyrdom when he was still a young boy.

We’ve all heard the axiom, “Timing is everything.” In so many aspects of life, the idiom rings true; there are certain times at which certain things are best done. Looking back on some of God’s movements, it’s clear that He is conscious of “good timing,” as well.
Perhaps the best example of God’s timing was the birth of the church.
John Wesley was one of Britain’s greatest evangelists. He founded the concept of outdoor preaching, led thousands upon thousands to Christ, and even started a movement that eventually became the United Methodist Church.
And to think, he almost never made it out of childhood.
