Let’s face it: nobody calls Christmas what we’ve turned it into.
It’s pretty sad that Thanksgiving is being eclipsed by an annual sale, but that’s the state of our holiday mindset. Maybe there’s some wisdom for all of us embedded in the words of Paul from Colossians 3:15. “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.”
Painting the walls. Hanging the family portrait. Rearranging the furniture. Replacing a couch. Setting out pictures of friends. Sounds like a normal weekend remodeling project in the suburbs, right? But what if it were a hotel room? Would that be a little weird?
Then why do we do the same thing with our lives in general?
OK, somebody needs to knock some sense into boxer, Floyd Mayweather.
