“What Are You Doing Here?”
by davidrsmithby davidrsmithMartin Niemรถller was a Lutheran pastor in Germany when the Second World War began. He is immortalized for being the one who said, โFirst they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak outโbecause I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak outโbecause I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak outโbecause I was not a Jew. Naturally, all three men wanted to know whose it was.

Preaching to Passive Pastors
by davidrsmithby davidrsmithAt a pastorโs conference in Scotland in 1865, Hudson Taylor, the mighty missionary to China, was given the opportunity to address 2,000 pastors about his work. Sadly, many churches in Europe couldnโt have been less concerned about the millions of Chinese people dying apart from Christ on a monthly basis.
But then, Hudson Taylor opened his sermon with this storyโฆ.
