Coach Billy Donovan knows how to win big. Before transitioning into the NBA, he led the Florida Gator’s basketball team in back-to-back national championships. But he knows what it’s like to lose big, too.
When he and his wife lost a child, he knew exactly where to turn.
Coach Brown and his squad of little leaguers were down 11 runs in the 8th inning. He was as frustrated as the 4th graders he was coaching. The game was all but lost, and the poor attitudes around him just kept getting worse.
When he could take it no more, Coach Brown walked over for a heart-to-heart talk with his young pitcher.
If you were putting together a basketball team and had the chance to pick Michael Jordan as one of your players, you would almost certainly do so. But back in 1978, Coach Clifton “Pop” Herring had that exact opportunity…and opted not to.
Instead of MJ, he chose a player that most fans have never heard of.

But Brodus wouldn’t watch this game from his living room.

In late 2010, they asked Craig Bohl, coach of the North Dakota State University football team, to be a spokesman for a 30-second radio spot to promote a safe driving campaign. Coach Bohl happily agreed to help Fargo’s finest.
There was just one problem. Ummm…make that 18 problems.
