If you’ve got a mother, chances are, at one point or another she’s asked you, “Were you born in a barn!?” (She was there; shouldn’t she remember?) Maybe she’s said to you, “If you break your leg, don’t come running to me!” (“Umm…I can’t.”) No, it’s not because she’s crazy; it’s because she loves you.
But there are some things no self-respecting mother will ever say to her children.
“How on earth can you see the TV sitting so far from it?”
“Yeah, I used to skip school a lot, too.”
“Just leave all the lights on…it makes the house look more cheery.”
“Let me smell that shirt; yep, it’s good for another week.”
“Well, if Dylan’s mama says it’s okay, that’s good enough for me.”
“Your curfew is just a proposed guideline. Drag in whenever you see fit.”
“I don’t have a tissue with me…just use your sleeve.”
“Don’t bother wearing a jacket; the wind-chill is bound to improve.”
See. This perspective clearly shows us how much our moms love us!
